update

Well looks like its been way way too lon since I've updated...thanks Kris.
Life is busy as usual. Soccer games are over so life will get back to seminormal state. Work is crazy nuts. Lots of projects, too little time. I cannot wait until December when I take 2 weeks off.

OK so been away a realllllllly long time!!!

Life is crazy busy with work. I need a designer but don't have one. Oh well keep working, we have work so not that bad. Doing alot of work up north...traveling.

Boys are good. Hunter lost another tooth.
Grant is a busy body and driving me crazy but I love him anyway.

Birthday is coming up...yeh!! Well yeh that I'll have girls night not yeh I'm anothe year older.

Well yet again its been a while since I posted....life is just too busy.
Hunter is in soccer and Grant is in Tball....Kindgerten...pool...work...life.
We leave in 6 days for Disney World which I am so ecstatic about. We need a vacation badly. We decided to get a car for a day and go to the beach so the kids can see the ocean!!!

Well its been forever since I've written a blog....

Too busy I guess. Work is nuts..for being slow I'm pretty damn busy. People just need to do more school work. Boys are good. We start soccer and baseball practice next week, games start in late April. Fun, Fun. Getting excited about our trip as its all booked and I will sooo need this vacation.

So its been pretty uneventful last few weeks.

I got Grant's 3 year pics taken FINALLY!! I will have in a few weeks.

Hunter started winter soccer training Wed/Thursday night so that's another thing to go to but by time its done soccer will be close so it will help him that much more.

I'm planning the GS Father Daughter Dance I do every year. Its on V-day this year, which sucks but its always the 2nd Sat of the month so can't change that. I'm busy trying to get businesses to give us gift cards and raffle prizes. This years theme is Sweetheart Dance so should be alot of fun.

NYE was fun. We had it at Kalynn/Erik's this year....very relaxing.

Well its been a busy few weeks.......

On Dec 9th I passed my LEED exam.....very exciting and glad to have behind me!!!

I'm off for the rest of the year as of Wed so I'm a very happy camper. So much to do.

Kalynn got a few of us girls hooked on the Twilight series so we have been feverishly reading... I have never read so many pages in my life in such a short time. I'm on book 4 (book 1 took 2 days, Book 2 took 3 days and book 3 took a week)..Book 4 is taking me longer due to holidays and just plain being tired plus its over 800 pages. LOVES ME SOME EDWARD!!!!!! Great series I highly recommend it.

Let's see Christmas went very well. Grant woke up puking around 3am but we got passed that and he didn't the rest of the day. No fever just an upset tummy. Thank god!!! Everyone was up around 8am so we did our thing here and then my parents came over. We got a new camera so I'm very happy. Our digital camera was 6 years old and it was done, I barely got pics out of it. Everyone got alot of really nice stuff and the boys were very happy. We went to Matt's side of the family (mom's) for lunch at noon and then to my parents at 6pm for dinner. I didn't over do it so I'm still doing well with my weight loss. 33.5lbs so far....35lbs by end of year is my goal...

Well until my New Year's eve report...have a Happy New Year!!

Well its been a busy few weeks....

My test is Tuesday so its all or nothing now.

Had dinner at Missy's on Saturday...nice to just hang out.

I'm not in the Christmas spirit yet so no tree or decorations up... Tuesday night!!

I recieved the book Twilight so I'm super excited to start reading it as I wanted to see the movie so I'll read the book first then go see it...I have't read a book in ages. LOVE ME SOME VAMPIRES!!!!

Life.....

Well let's see....

we had the boys b-day party 2 weeks ago. It was a blast. We had it at our house this year, thinking we'd keep it small....NOT A CHANCE...too many friends/kids. Anyway Missy and I did a joint b-day party since Kaiden's b-day is only a few days away from mine. We did cake, ice cream, pizza, pinata, presents and then saw Madagascar II, freaking hiliarous. All the kids did wonderful and we all had a great time.

I'm still studying for my exam....Dec 9th is the big day. I'm down to studying the crap that isn't sticking....and taking lots of practice tests.

Work is busy so that's good considering economic times...pray that stays that way.

Last weekend we just hung around the house and chilled.

Thanksgiving was 2 times this year in one day. Once at Matt's family and once with mine. Usually we go to Chicago but this year we wanted to stay home which was great.

Got up at 3:30am on Friday to hit Kohls along with everyone else, I got some great deals but it was killer.

Today I met Darcy, Christi and Jenny for breakfast as Darcy was in town so great to see her as its been months and months.

Went to Amber's for an after Thanksgiving get together, fun....then we did family time at home watching Wall E and chillin....

Well I've been a busy girl as you can see by no blogging for a while....

Let's see work has been insane and will only get more before its over. We are working on a 3 schools in Avon doing renovations and all due by end of year more or less...freak out!!! I am getting a designer for 3 days a week so thank god I will actually get to take time off at Christmas.
We went to the pumpkin patch the weekend before Halloween. All was good.





I took Halloween off and we went to the Zoo. It was great, 70 degrees and probably 50 people in the entire zoo.


Halloween was fun. Boys were Venom and Spiderman.



Lets see saw Amber's band Greta Speaks last weekend with Cheryl. Great as usual. So funny to be around a bunch of young people at the bars....lots of people watching that night.

Been studying for my LEED exam, Dec 9th is the date!!! Getting alittle freaked out but I'm getting ready. Bought practice tests online so doing that like the real thing.

Boys birthday party with Kaiden is this Saturday. Movie themed, pizza, cake and seeing Madagascar 2 afterwards.
We gave Hunter is Wii last night since it was his birthday. He was estactic!!! Went over very well.

So its been a busy few weeks.

Last weekend I went to Chicago for the New Kids ocncert....it was a blast!!!! It was like they never left.





Let's see work is going well. Business is finally starting to pick up so its time to hire a designer. I've been interviewing for about 2 months now. I think I found the right designer so 2nd interview is this week..... I went to an interview with Avon the other night so that was cool....love those....fun to brag about what your company can do. I don't ever talk just be the designer.

Hunter and Grant are doing well. Hunter is doing awesome at school and Grant is now officially fully potty trained.

Well my new mission is to find a Wii for the boys. Today I got the Wii Fit board and Mario Cart which apparently are harder than the game to find, just walked into Blockbuster. So now I'm on the mission to find me the gaming system..wish me luck. So stupid that you have to hunt down a gaming system.

Sooooo what's been going on.

Well let's see. 2 weekends ago we had our summer party....crazy!! It rained of course, that is my luck. It was alot of fun hanging out with my girls and just talking.
Hunter is doing well in school and soccer still.
Grant is my crazy child still.
Work is OK. I'm going to IU tomorrow to get work...booo IU but hey its work. They are doing like 1200 jobs so hopefully we can get a piece of the pie there. Higher Ed is the way to go these days.
Still studying for my test, I need to set a date soon.
Going to New Kids on Saturday in Chicago with Dana, Amber and Cheryl. I'm beyond excited. I was a hardcore fan, 6 concerts and tons of crap. So this will be my 7th concert and I'm soooo excited. There new CD is awesome and they are really putting out no stops on this tour. So yes I'm a dork but I don't care because they are still HOT!!!!!

Sooooo.....

let's see its been a quiet but busy last few weeks...

We got the playground done. Cj/Matt built the main frame and Matt worked on it for about 2 weeks until complete. The boys love it.



Our next project was our deck. We have been talking about it forever, and I mean since we built the house 4 years ago. Matt does not have time so we hired someone to build it, the guy has a small crew and they do the decks for Salbery Bros (Matt's work)........



We are having an end of summer party next weekend, very excited to use our backyard FINALLY!!!

Hunter is doing well in school...sounding everything out...catching up quickly. He is exhausted everyday from school, falls asleep most days on the bus. Luckily Hunter is in the front seat so she can't miss him.

Soccer started this weekend, Hunter scored a goal!!!! He worked it down almost the entire field, first time for that. Glasses and summer camp are finally paying off. We are so proud of him!!!



Work has been steady, wish it would pick up so I can hire a designer. The referendum thing for school work has been things on a hold for most school districts that want to built....not good for those of us that do K-12 design. It will turn around next year once the schools can hold voting sessions......

I'm studying for my LEED exam (green design). Hoping to take that before end of year...need to actually as they are changing the exam to be harder and it sucks ass right now as it is. So hard to study though but I'll manage.

So its been quite a while since I blogged.......

Well let's see..
8/6 we went to the State Fair with friends. We had a great time, didn't make it all the way around though. We saw most of the animals....rode fair rides...had great food...came home and took a nap







Then Kindegarten started last week......I was fine until he got on the bus and I lost it. We discovered he needed glasses the week before so that has made a huge difference. He likes it and alreayd has 2 girlfriends. He has good teachers. One I think is 12... ;-)






Next came my trip to New Mexico. I was invited by a Carpet company to attend a confernce of sorts with all designer that do K-12 design. We were from all over the US. I learned a great deal of what other firms do, what I shoudl be doing and got very energized to do more creative design. New Mexico is so beautiful. I stayed in Santa Fe. I've never seen so much jewelry in my life......

So its been a busy past week......

First, forgot to mention that Missy is prego....SOOOO excited for her (just as I predicted)

Hunter will be going to full day kindergarten now, afternoon program to help him out a bit with his letters and such (damn letters!!)
Cannot believe its almost a week away!!!

We are going to the State Fair this weekend!! Whoo hoo!!!

Sunday I'm doing lunch/movie with my girls Missy and Mel and whoeever else wants to go...GIRL TIME!!!!

Next week is so busy....Monday Ice cream social...WEd school starts...Thurs-Sat I'm in New Mexico!!!!

Well work laid off 7 people last week so that was scary...economy leads people not to build and stupid property taxes have schools in shock about building too. Until we get more work things will be slow...

So its been a while since I posted ( I say this every time don't I).....

Well we've been going to the pool pretty regularly still, gonna suck when the pool closes. Hunter still won't put his head under water, our swim lessons are on hold for now as she couldn't do it anymore. Grant floated with floates on his arms for the first time yesterday....."I'm floating, I'm floating" is what he said. It was pretty cute.

We went to Evie's b-day party on Saturday, hard to believe she is one......good times!!

Hunter had his Kindergarten assessment this past week, hopefully he is good to go. I started buying his school supplies. I'm going to be a total mess that morning, I took it off so I can then collect myself before I go to work. gonig to be so exciting for him.

Hunter is going to soccer camp at night all week at the soccer complex so I hope this will jump start soccer for him as he just isn't all in it yet. Games start in a few weeks.

Grant is just saying everything these days, I just laugh because I'm constantly saying "you can say that". We are officially off the diaper except at nights, we are in full throws on potty training. I'm so over diapers, I threw away the stupid diaper jeanie last week as it sucked so I got pissed and threw it away!! He's a big boy now and goes so its just a matter of tackling the night time which can take a while.

I've decided its time to give stuff to consignment so I am slowing compiling all the kids stuff, hope to make some $$$.

So Matt and I went on a date on Saturday. We don't go out to dinner much and rarely by ourselves so it was nice. We went to Mitchell's in Clay Terrace, if you love seafood this is the place and not badly priced either. We then got the boys and put them to bed and watched a movie, by ourselves w/o interruption. Very nice!!!

6 things about me

Here you go Kalynn and Missy

1. Well I truly love being a designer. I look forward to going to work every day, every day is different. I work with so many talented and dedicated people Designing schools is so rewarding. How many things in your life do you know will impact 1,000's and 1000's of kids for at least 30-50 years to come.

2.My dreams...........well I will not be a designer forever. I would love to own and run a event planning business for weddings, shower, business events, etc. One day I'll get there. Pretty sure I need to go to school so I will get my masters. I also want to go back to teaching one day which I will need my masters to be serious.

3. Friendships....well its been an interesting year for me on this subject. I've always been the type to chase friendships. Regardless on how much that person gave back to me or didn't I kept on them hoping they'd give back the same. I've had alot of heartache with those who don't and I don't know why they won't. So I've done alot of thinking... I know I have great friends and I have those friends who are there sometimes. I have realized that not everyone is there all the time and I need to move on and see them when I do and that is just the way it is. I have also learned friends change and you either accept that or move on regardless if that change is good or not. I have also gotten in contact with a few old friends from HS and college this year and feels good, regardless if we remain close I tried and it was good to talk with them.

4. Things I hate............I HATE WORMS...I don't care if its a earthworm, inch worm or whatever. I will not get near it or touch it. I cannot stand them and I freak out and they usually end up dead. Yes dramatic but hey that's me. Having 2 boys has really put this to the test, needless to say Matt thinks its pretty funny and encourages the boys to get worms near me. ( I think it also stems from my tramatic corn shucking incident when I was young and a big fat worm was in a piece of corn-needless to say I don't shuck corn)

5. This has been a year of change for me. In January my work decided to do a weight loss challenge. At first I was like whatever this is stupid but after I thought about it I was like I can do this, its not dieting its a lifestyle change. So starting Jan. 1 I gave us soda, fast food and eating crap. I drink water, eat better and exercise regularly. Yes I finally got my ass on the treadmill I got a year ago January from Lindsey. So by the 90 day end of the weight loss challenge I lost 18lbs. I won 1st place for the females. Felt pretty damn good I tell you. Since then I lost 7lbs more....25lbs total. That's huge for me. I've never tried to loose weight even though I knew I needed too. My goal is 5-10lbs more by end fo year. I feel better about myself and about life. I still get my occasionaly pop and fast food but that's a special treat that I earn for myself.

6. Like Kalynn I cannot live without my email. Since I don't talk to many people on the phone its my way of communicating to those close and far away. It is one of the best things invented and I love it.

Let's see July 4th was great. We went to the Irvin side of the family and had a cookout...great to be with family. Lots of yummy southern food. Then we went to the Noblesville parade...funny thing lots of cars not alot of floats... parade?? Every year it gets funnier as to who is in the parade....mopeds in a parade...yep they were in it. We went to the parade with the King's and then we all had dinner at our house. We then headed over to the fireworks at the HS. They were not that good this year which sucks but there is always next year...... we went to the pool on Saturday back at Matt's aunts...loved it...like bath water. Sunday we went to the zoo with the Kings. Evie's first zoo visit.






This week has been great. We've been to the pool twice and plan on going all weekend. Nothing really going on but relaxing.

Well Allison my designer gave me her 2 weeks notice, moving back home as her boyfriend/lawyer got a clerk job. Sad to see her go as I really liked her and she was getting the swing of things on her own. So now the hunt is on for a new designer. Luckily we are not busy at work so I'm not freaking out yet. I still have my intern but hopefully I find someone by end of month.

So wow its already July, where has the summer gone. 6 more weeks until school starts, AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
We have been enjoying the summer to its fullest. We go to the pool every weekend if not both days and also during the week. I'm actually getting a tan for the first time in a long time....yeah!! Boys are lovig the water. Hunter started swim lessons on Sat mornings at the pool.
So let's all what has gone on.

I got nominated to go to a interior design symposium in Santa Fe, NM in August...select 20 designer from across the country were chosen and we are all K-12 designers. I'm very excited as its a great opportunity for me and GDI. Little scary traveling by myself and being away for 3 days but we'll deal with it. Of course its the day after kindergarten starts so it will be a very hectic week. I'm staying at a spa hotel so I might just have to indulge myself in a little massage.....

I have decided to take the LEED exam which is basically the exam that says you know about green design and can be involved in the process in building a green building. Its a very hot thing right now so we are getting very involved. Its a very hard test and lots of studying but it was be very good for me to have this and for GDI to have a designer with it. I'm going to Chicago in August (busy month) to take a class that helps you understand what is on the test. I'll take the test whenever I'm ready. My goal is by end of year....reviews on in January...see where I'm going with that.

So other than that just enjoying the sun.....
